In today’s modern world, where we are just one click away from getting groceries delivered to our house to being able to talk and see our relatives living hundreds of miles away- the wonders of technology (especially the internet) have overwhelmed, fueled, and taken over almost every aspect of our life. One such important aspects is modern education. In India, multiple surveys and tons of research have reported that our country’s current generations have more access to phones and the internet than they do to food and/or toilets or other basic necessities. This could be proof that in today’s age, access to the World Wide Web counts as a necessity.
And in the opinion of many, ( including myself, ) it is rightly so. The internet leads us to a cornucopia of knowledge! From recipes, to fun facts, to online doctorate courses- the web holds and provides it all for free. Our government realised this , and introduced multiple missions and programmes to make internet available everywhere throughout the country, even in the most rural areas, so that people get more chances to spread their culture and information and learn.
In the end of 2019, the world was hit with a catastrophic pandemic; and India , being the second most populated nation and a developing country, was one of the worst-hit ones with a gigantic infection count. The government acted quickly and issued a lockdown, but in the rural areas, it had some serious economical and mental effects. People had no choice but to use the web to learn. The transition from Offline to Online was welcomed by the whole world.
This led to more people realizing what great treasure had been hiding beneath their noses for all this time- and we soon adopted to this new lifestyle, benefiting and learning more and more everyday.
