Frédéric Sorrieu (17 January 1807 - 26 September 1887) was a French engraver, printmaker and draughtsman. He was notable for his works testifying the liberal and nationalist revolutions in France and in Europe. One of his works, La République universelle démocratique et sociale, was a series of four prints envisioning his dream of a world made up of 'democratic and social republics

In this painting French artist visualises his dream of a world made up of democratic and social Republics, as he called them. It shows people of Europe and America-men and women of all ages and social classes-marching in a long train and offering homage to the statue of liberty

Hope it helps
