The percolation rate is greater in clayey soil than loamy and sandy soil.
Explanation:
Clayey soil are rich in organic minerals and that is formed by grained rock or soil material and have the capability to hold water for maximum time period as it contain structure suitable for trapping water.
But sandy soil can't hold water for longer time period as they contain airy space and water penetrate at a depth of 12 inches whereas in clayey soil water penetrate only to 4.0 inches. But loamy soil contain intermediate water holding capacity and is best to use in agriculture as it has ideal amount of clay, sand, air water and mineral.
