Answer:

Zn can displace Cu from its salt solution but Fe cannot.

Explanation:

In a solution, metal is present in the form of ions.  The reduction of the oxidised state takes place when a metal is displaced from its salt solution.

A metal can displace any other metal placed below it in the series from the salt solution of the latter.

Zinc rod is placed in a solution of CuSO₄, zinc metal dissolves in the solution and copper gets precipitated.

Zn + CuSO₄ → ZnSO₄ + Cu

Zinc is above Cu in the series and possesses higher reducing power than copper. Hence zinc can easily displace copper from its solution.

In the case of Fe, Fe is also above Cu in the series. Hence, Fe also displaces Copper from its salt solution.

Fe + CuSO₄ → FeSO₄ + Cu
