The Indian Rebellion of 1857 had diverse political, economic, military, religious and social causes. ... The main cause of the revolt of 1857 was the cartridge of Enfield rifles which are provided by the British government to the Indian army men.

These cartridges are made out of cow and pig fat which caused the religious rage among the Muslim and Hindu army men.

2) Outbreak of the revolt:

The outbreak of this revolt was occurred in many places in India at that time which were leaded by different leaders and regional rulers.

3)Failure cause:

The revolt was mainly failed because it was not performed unitedly which became the main weak point of this revolt.

4) Results:

This revolt was the first protest against the British government which opened the path to the future independence fight.
