a)

During first 4 seconds the speed of body is increasing and it is accelerating. (with positive sign)

b)

During time interval from 4 to 10 seconds the speed of body is constant so no acceleration is producing during this time.

c)

During time interval from 10 to 16 seconds the speed of body is decreasing so retardation is producing during this time.

d)

In time 0 to 4 seconds

acceleration of body = a = ( final velocity - initial velocity ) / time

                                         =  (Vf - Vi) / t

Here

t = 4 s    ,    Vf = 6 m/s     ,    Vi = 0 m/s

Putting values we get

                                       a = ( 6 - 0 ) / 4 = 3 / 2 = 1.5 m/s²

So acceleration is 1.5 m/s²

In time 4 to 10

there is constant velocity so acceleration is zero

In time 10 to 16 actually there is no increase in velocity actually there is decrease in speed so retardation is produce and calculated e) part

e)

In time 0 to 4 there is actually acceleration and calculated in part d)

In time 4 to 10

speed is constant so retardation is zero.

Int time 10 to 16

Time = t = 16 -10 = 6 s

initial speed = Vi = 6 m/s

final speed = Vf = 0 m/s

acceleration = a = ( Vf - Vi ) / t

Putting values we get

                        a = ( 0 - 6 ) / 6 = -1 m/s²

So

retardation is 1 m/s²

f)

Distance travel by body From A to B = Area under the graph AB

                                                             =length × height = 6 × 6 = 36 m

So Distance = 36 m
