Study these tables related to boiling points
of different substances and humidity and answer the following questions.
Table A: Boiling points of different substances
Table B: Humidity percentage in three situations
Substance
Methanol
Ethanol
Nitric Acid
Water
Iodine
Boiling point (°C)
64.7
78.4
83
100
184.3
Situation A
Situation B
Situation C
Humidity
>75
50-75
(a) Refer Table B and find out in which situation a bowl of water will evaporate away the fastest and
slowest.
(b) A bowl of water and a bowl of ethanol are kept inside a room. Which bowl will get empty first?
c)refer table A and table B and find in which situation out of the following the substance will evaporate the faster?

Answer: (a) Water will evaporate fastest when the temperature is 100 degree or more and slowest when it is 0 degree as it will be in its frozen state.

              (b) The bowl containing ethanol will evaporate faster than the bowl containing water as ethanol has a lower boiling point than water.

              (c) Mention situation C. But from what is provided b) & c) is not the answer
