My own experience on this:

When my new classes started. I have seen that from few easy points Teacher started noticing me. These were those:

1. Always do your work on time as well as day by day: This will make you tired but trust me it works completely. After doing this, I can be a good student and say anytime that my work is complete.
2. Try to revise things after the class: This helped me too mush you can do this on Sunday or any holiday day too. This, will help you to understand things better and if your teacher will ask any question from previously taught topics then you will be 1st to answer it. This will make you to be noticed by your teacher.
3. Practice mathematics dialy at least ½ hour: This will make your mathematics completely good as well as improved.
4. Try to make mind maps: It looks like the given attachment. You have to write some Important points about the topic. (it's an image from web but I hope you understood what I want to say.)
5. Never learn before 1 month due to examinations: Studying before 1 months to examinations can make you panic.
