Subcontinent is part of continent which is clearly demarketed/seperated from rest of the continent by geographical boundries (not political).

Say for ex: Indian Subcontinent includes India/Pakistan/Nepal/Bhutan/Bangladesh as this part of land is seperated from rest of Asia as one side from Himalaya and other side from Indus river.
