1) what did the narrator see that startled him ?

answer :- The narrator, a ten years old boy, felt startled at the old man's question because the question was altogether confusing as the old man's appearance was. Besides, the old beggar asked him in English when English speaking beggars were utmost rare in the narrator's place.

2) what, according to the narrator, was  Mini's main attraction for the Kabuliwalla ?

answer :- (refer to the attachment as the answer is too big)

3) what happened to eight - anna coin the narrator gave to Kabuliwalla ?

answer :- Mini''s mother was shocked to see the coin that Kabuliwala have it to get as that coin was given by mini'skirt father when he had given almonds and raisins to the little girl,Mini. Now,Mini''s mother was thinking that why he had returned that coin? So, it was the reason behind this.

4) how did Kabuliwalla made friends with Mini ?

answer :-  kabuliwala was a peddlar from afghan who use to sell dryfruits in streets of kolkata. once while passing through the streets of kolkata he saw mini playing and remembered his daughter , so he visited her house and asked the narrator to make them friends. ... soon their friendship became true.
