If I were to be a peasant in the old regime of France, I wouldn't have access to necessary commodities like bread for subsistence, I also would have to pay heavy taxes to both the First Estate and the Second Estate, which wouldn't be a great thing.

All in all, my life would be terrible as I wouldn't be able to make a profit of my farm and in the worst case of a crop failure, I would go bankrupt.
