20
Let marks in history be h, in geography be g and in english be e.

h=20+(g+e)/2 and e=60

Then we will get only one equation in g and h which is not possible to solve without another piece of information

Given,

Subodh's marks in History are 20 more than the average marks obtained by him in Geography and English. His marks in English are 60.

To Find,

What are his marks in Geography?

Solution,

We can find his marks in Geography as follows:

It is given that his marks in History are 20 more than the average marks obtained by him in Geography and English. Also, his marks in English are 60.

Let, his marks in History be h and his marks in Geography be g.

Now,

The average marks obtained in Geography and English is equal to the total marks divided by 2.

average marks obtained in Geography and English = \frac{g + 60}{2}

His marks in History are 20 more than the average marks obtained in Geography and English.

Therefore,

h = \frac{g + 60}{2}  + 20

Solving the above equation,

h = \frac{g + 60 + 40}{2}

h = \frac{g + 100}{2}

2h = g + 100

g = 2h - 100

Hence, his marks in Geography are 2h - 100.
