Convert them into like fractions by taking the LCM of the denominators i.e, 14 and 8.

LCM of 14 and 8 is 56.

${\tt \leadsto \dfrac{27 \times 4}{14 \times 4} - \dfrac{13 \times 7}{8 \times 7}}$

Multiply the numerators and the denominators of both the fractions.

${\tt \leadsto \dfrac{108}{56} - \dfrac{91}{56}}$

Write both numerators in one fraction and subtract them.

${\tt \leadsto \dfrac{108 - 91}{56} = \dfrac{17}{56}}$
