The correct answer is (5, \frac{1}{7} ).

The following are the equations given:

\frac{15}{x} + \frac{2}{y} = 17

\frac{1}{x}  + \frac{1}{y} = \frac{36}{5}

Let us assume that, a = \frac{1}{x}  and b = \frac{1}{y}

⇒ 15a + 2b = 17       ............................................................................................... (i)

Also, a + b = \frac{36}{5}

a = \frac{36}{5} - b

Substituting the value of a in the equation (i) we get,

15 (\frac{36}{5} - b ) + 2b = 17

⇒ 108 - 13b = 17

⇒ b = 7

y = \frac{1}{7}

Substituting value of b in the equation (i),

⇒ 15a + (2x7) = 17

a = \frac{1}{5}

∴ x = 5

Thus, (5, \frac{1}{7} ) is the solution for the given pair of system of equations.
