x-y+1 = 0
x = y-1    ......(1)

3x-5y+1 = 0
Substituting value of x from equation (1)
3(y-1) -5y = -1
3y - 3 - 5y = -1
-2y = 2
y = -1

x = y-1
x = -1-1
x = -2
