SUBSTITUTION METHOD

2x + 3y = 13 _(i)

x + 2y = 8. _(ii)

From eq.(i)

2x + 3y = 13

2x = 13 - 3y

x = 13 - 3y /2.

Put the value of x in eq. ii

x + 2y = 8

 \frac{13 - 3y}{2}  + 2y = 8

 \frac{13 - 3y + 4y}{2}  = 8

13 + y = 16

y = 3

Putting value of y in eq.i

2x + 9 = 13

2x = 4

x = 2. Answer
