Given:

 \frac{1}{4}  -  \frac{3}{4}

Explaintion:

As you can see the denominators are same. Whenever all the denominators are same we have to only subtract the numerator.

Solve:

 \frac{3}{4}  -  \frac{1}{4}  =  \frac{2}{4}

Now you can see the numbers can divided by two.

So;

Divide by two.

 \frac{2}{4}  =  \frac{1}{2}

 \frac{1}{2}
