First convert 2 3 /4 into a improper fraction which is 11/4 , now convert 4 1/8 into a improper fraction which is 33/8. Now find their Lcm ( Least Common Multiple) to subtract the improper fractions. So the Lcm of 11/4 and 33/8 is 8. Now multiply 11/4 with the multiplicand of 8 , which is the denominator so now the multiplicand is 2 . Multiply 2 with both numerator and denominator and you get the answer as 22/8 . You no need to find the Lcm of 33/8 as the denominator is already 8. Now subtract 33/8 and 22/8 , you will get the answer as 11/8. Thefore the answer for the question is 11/8.
