2x+5y-4

i.e 2x+5y=4 -------(1)

x+6y+12

i.e x+6y= -12 -----------(2)

multiplying equation (2) by 2 and equation (1) by 1 ,

2x+5y=4----------(3)

2x+12y= -24--------(4)

subtracting equation (4) by (3),

2x+12y= -24---------(4)

2x+5y= 4 -----------(3)

_________________

7y=28

y=28/7

y=4

substituting y=4 in equation (3),

2x+5×4=4

2x+20=4

2x=4-20

2x=16

x=16/2

x=8
