Given data:  -2x + 6y from 3x - 9y

To find: Subtraction of given expression

Solution:

  • Subtraction is defined as the difference between two numbers.

  • In horizontal method the expression will be arranged in row or horizontal with negative sign.
  • From the given expression we have (3x - 9y)-(-2x + 6y).
  • Now we need to add the second expression to first expression 3x - 9y+2x - 6y.
