We have to subtract  2x + y +12 from 5x – y +14​

So, for subtracting the given expression from other, we will use the concept of subtracting the like terms.

So, we will subtract the term containing x from the term containing x and similarly doing it for other number.

So, we will get it as,

(5x-y+14)-(2x+y+12)\\=>5x-y+14-2x-y-12)\\=>5x-2x-y-y+14-12\\=>3x-2y+2

Hence, we will get 3x-2y+2 when we subtract 2x + y +12 from 5x – y +14​
