5/8-7/8=-1/4
answer is in negative

charu2681: but 7-5 is 2???..
charu2681: no -2/8 is wrong
charu2681: i had already checked it on the back of my book
charu2681: -1/4 is correct.....but how?? : (
Rekharr: It os just like 1-4=-3 because and also 7/8 is bigger value and 1 also 5/8 is smaller value or number and we know that when bigger number is substracted by smaller number then number is always negative.
charu2681: 8-8 = 4 but 7-5 =2
Rekharr: Yes 7-5=2 but here is 5-7=-2
charu2681: then the answer should be -2
charu2681: then why -1/4????
Rekharr: Because here is 5/8-7/8=-2/8 which can be also write -1/4
