The difference of two like terms is a like term whose coefficient is the difference of the numerical coefficient of the two like terms.

∴The required difference =(a2+b2+2ab)−(a2+b2−2ab)

=a2+b2+2ab−a2−b2+2ab

Rearranging and collecting like terms

=(1−1)a2+(1−1)b2+(2+2)ab

=(0)a2+(0)b2+(4)ab

=4ab
