additive inverse of 1/7 = -1/7

-1/2 - (-1/7)

-1/2 + 1/7

lcm of 2, 7 = 14

-1/2 × 7/7 = -7/14

1/7×2/2 = 2/14

-7/14 + 2/14

= -5/14

-5/14 + 2/3

lcm of 14, 3 = 42

-5/14 × 3/3 = -15/42

2/3 × 14/14 = 28/42

-15/42 + 28/42

= 13/42 is the answer
