Solution,

Subtract the second polynomial from the first,

\[\begin{array}{l} = 7{x^2} - 3x + 10 - \left( {2{x^2} + 6x - 8} \right)\\ = 5{x^2} - 9x + 18\end{array}\]

Hence the resultant polynomial is \[5{x^2} - 9x + 18\].
