sum of -1/2 and -3/4

-1/2+(-3/5)

=-5/4

sum of -3/2 and 5/2

=-3/2+5/2

=2/2

=1

subtract-5/4 from 1

therefore 1-(-5/4)=1+5/4

=9/4

=2.25
