(3 3⁄8 + 5 1⁄4) - (4 3⁄8 + 7 1⁄12)

∴ To find the substraction, we have to find the LCM to make denominators same.

∴ LCM = 24

∴ (3 3×3/8×3 + 5 1×6/4×6) - (4 3×3/8×3 + 7 1×2/12×2)

∴ (3 9⁄24 + 5 6⁄24) - (4 9⁄24 + 7 2⁄24)

∴ (81/24 + 126/24) - (105/24 + 170/24)

∴ 207/24 - 275/24

∴ -68/24

∴ The answer is -68/24 = -2 -5/6
