5q-5=4+2q
5q-2q=4+5
3q=9
hence q =9/3=3

Let the number be 'q'
5 times the number 'q'=5q
Subtracting 5 from 5 times the number q:-
5q-5
4 more than twice that number,4+2q

According to question,
Subtracting 5 from 5 times the number q is 4 more than twice the number.
5q-5=4+2q
5q-2q=4+5
3q=9
q=9/3
q=3
