It is true, but it’s incomplete.
It’s true if it’s like this: “success comes from experience, and experience comes from bad experience / failure, but only if one learns from one’s mistakes and do not give up the pursuit of success.”
Take for example: stock trading. All people who try stocktrading will eventually experience failure. Some a lot worse than others. A majority of them will give up, either fairly deciding that it’s not for them, but quite likely because they could not deal with the pain of their losses. But there will always be a few who just won’t quit, they will study more, learn more, they can sometimes be discouraged, but they will bring themselves up to try and try again. As they rack up experience, becoming wiser and mentally tougher. And yes, out of this few, there will be true success stories, or at least people who will do quite well.
