Succession:

Succession is process where a particular ecosystem is replaced slowly by another ecosystem due to growth of some species that are nit from the endemic ecosystem. An ecosystem has a few stages like

  • Stage of initiation – Where the new species occupy the previous ecosystem.
  • Secondary succession – Even different animals from other ecosystems come to habitat here.
  • Pioneer and niche species
  • Climax community.

Climax community formation is maximum step of ecosystem. After formation of climax community, ecosystem again subsides and new ecosystem takes its place.
