"      The gradual change of the ecosystems over time is ecological succession. This includes primary and secondary succession.

Primary succession occurs at lifeless natural areas like rocks which undergoes gradation to soil particles slowly over a long period of time.

Secondary successions are biological in nature that occurs when living organisms continuously interact with the environment during its life cycle of growth and reproduction and changes gradually over time.

Secondary succession also occurs due to human activities like deforestation, novel agricultural practices, or disasters like forest fires, volcano bursts.

The succession changes are referred to as seral changes.

Environmental factors like climate, temperature, soil, etc affect succession."
