This is a simple question yet simple answer too..

if summary of x and y is 36 it would be formulated with : x + y = 36

if their difference is 6, it would be formulated with : x - y = 6

so, the first thing that needed to do is substitute the x to find the y :

x = 36 - y

then,

x - y = 6

(36 - y) - y = 6

36 - y = 6 + y

36 - 6 = 2y

30 : 2 = y

15 = y

We have already found y is equal to 15 then what is x?

x + y = 36

x + 15 = 36

x = 36 -15

x = 21

So, both of the numbers which substitute x and y are = 21 and 15

Answer:

hlo mrk as branilest and thx

Step-by-step explanation:

X+y=36

X-y=6 this is a pair of simultanious equation

To eliminate y add both equations together

2x=42 devide by two to make x the subject or to solve for x or to make the coefficient of x be one

X=21

Substitute 20 in one equation to find y

(21)-y=6

You can change side change sign or subtract 20 both sides and get

-y=6–21

-y=-15

The coefficient of y is -1 so you devide by -1 both sides to get y=15

Therefore x=20 and y=15

You can prove your answer by replacing variables with numericals

X+y=36

21+15=36

X-y=6

21–15=36

So this is correct
