Sudesh is twice as old as seema if 6 years is subtracted from seema's age and 4 years is added to sudesh age, sudesh will be four times seema's age. how old were they three years old

let sudesh's age be x
seema's age be y
a/q 2x = y
and ( x+4)= 4(y-6) or x =4y- 28
putting y=2x in above equation we get
x= 4×2x - 28 so 7x =28 so x =4 yrs
so y = 2×4=8 yrs
so three years ago there age will be 1yr and 5yr respectively.

4(x-6) = 2x+4

4x-24 = 2x+4

4x-2x = 4-24

2x=28

x=14
