Sudha is 4 times as old as rita. After 8 years sudha will be twice as old as rita. Find their present age.

$let \: rita \: = x \\ then \: sudha = 4x \\ \\ after \: 8 \: years \\ rita = x + 8 \\ sudha = 4x + 8 \\ \\ now \: sudha \: is \: twice \: of \: rita \\ \\ 4x + 8 = 2(x + 8) \\ \\ 4x + 8 = 2x + 16 \\ \\ 4x - 2x = 16 - 8 \\ \\ 2x = 8 \\ \\ x = \frac{8}{2} \\ \\ x = 4$

$now \: rita \: (x) = 4 \\ \\ so \: sudha \: (4x) = 4 \times 4 = 16$

Hence, Rita's age is 4 years and Sudha's age is 16 years.
