Let the present age of Rita be x years

so age of Sudha = 4x.

After 8 years Sudha will be twice as old as Rita

• Age of Rita = x + 8
• Age of Sudha = 2(x + 8)

»» 4x + 8 = 2(x + 8)

»» 4x + 8 = 2x + 16

»» 2x = 8

»» x = 8/2

»» x = 4

• Age of Rita x = 4 years
• Age of Sudha 4x = 16 years
