Answer:

Khwaja Bande Nawaz Dargah is sacred tomb of Sufi saint Syed Muhammad Hussaini, popularly known as Hazrat Khwaja Banda Nawaz Gaisu Daraz (Urdu: خواجہ بندہ نواز گیسو دراز‎) , who lived from 13.7. 1321 to 1.11.1422 and died in Gulbarga. He was a well known Sufi saint from India of the Chishti Order. He was a promoter of common understanding, broad-mindedness and harmony among various religious groups.

Gaisu Daraz was a murid (disciple) of the noted Sufi saint HazratNasiruddin Chiragh Dehlavi of Delhi. Gaisu Daraz became the successor (khalifa) of Chiragh Dehlavi. He moved to Daulatabad during 1398 due to the attack of Timur on Delhi. He embraced the Chishti Order to South India and settled down in Gulbarga, at the request of Taj ud-Din Firuz Shah, Sultan of Bahmani kingdom.

At the age of four Banda Nawaz’s family shifted to Daulatabad in Deccan (now in Maharashtra). In 1397 Banda Nawaz came to Gulbarga, in Karnataka at the invitation of Sultan Taj ud-Din Firuz Shah. After teaching at Delhi, Mewath, Gwalior, Chander, Aircha, Chatra, Chanderi, Miandhar, Baroda, Khambayat and various other places he returned to Gulbarga in 1397. He died in Gulbarga during November 1422. His name was Abul-Fatah and his title was Gaisu Daraz. Among the scholars and theologians he was Sheikh Abul-Fatah Sadr Uddin Muhammad Dehlavi. However people identified him Khwaja Banda Nawaz Gaisu Daraaz.
