The mixture of sugar and salt solution can be separated by evaporation (the process of turning from a liquid into vapour) and if the water is completely evaporated we will get separated sugar from the mixture whereas if we dissolve the solution in alcohol, we get salt while sugar will be dissolved in alcohol. We can’t separate the mixture of powdered salt and sugar by the winnowing method because it separates heavier and lighter components of a mixture whileit becomes a homogeneous solution ( composition is uniform throughout the mixture )
