Explanation:
We have :-
→ Concentration (w/w %) = 60 %
→ Density of the solution = 1.5 g/cc
→ Volume of solution = 1 L = 1000 mL
________________________________
Density of the solution is given as "1.5 g/cc" . We can write it as "1.5 g/mL" . [As 1 cc = 1 mL] .
Weight of the solution :-
= Volume × Density
= 1000 × 1.5
= 1500 g
Let the required weight of sugar we 'x' grams. Putting values in the formula of weight by weight concentration, we get :-
⇒ Mass of solute/Mass of solution × 100
⇒ x/1500 × 100 = 60
⇒ 100x = 1500(60)
⇒ 100x = 90000
⇒ x = 90000/100
⇒ x = 900 g
