Suggest an idea to convert a full wave bridge rectifier to a half wave rectifier by changing the connecting wire/s. Draw the diagram and explain your answer.

  • To convert a full wave bridge rectifier to half wave rectifier we have to change the connection of resistance.
  • The diagram shown in the attached figure is best explained this conversion.
  • To convert into half wave rectifier we have to change the connection of R from point C to point B as shown in figure.
  • When we change the connection of R, now there is no current flowing through the D2 in the second half.
  • The output received will be due to D1 diodes only and it will be similar to the half wave rectifier output.
