The three methods are used for soil conservation:

Terrace cropping: The cultivation of steps or terraces on the slopes restricts erosion. The Western Himalayas and Central Himalayas have a well-developed terrace.

Strip cropping: Here you can divide large fields into strips. Strips of grass between the crops are left to grow. The grass can be left out after harvesting results in order to increase the fertility of the soil.

Shelterbelt planting: These shelterbelts help in stabilizing the sand dunes. The sand dunes are the main reason for soil erosion. The shelterbelt planting tightens the soil and reduces erosion
