The following are the measures to eradicate the demerits of democracy :
i_ Communalism is increasing its role in the today's democracy. It should be removed from the democracy. This can be done by launching enlightenment movement by T.V.,radio ,newspaper,magazine,etc. to promote nationalism instead of communal harmony. This will make people have the feeling of nation as a single community.
ii_ Casteism is deep rooted in our society which leads to vote banks. This can removed by pressuring government through petitions so that parties must not view a single caste. Also election commission must prepare a code of conduct to remove the influence of caste in democracy.
iii_ Parties try to give membership to candidates who have so called 'money and muscle power'. It should be emphasised that parties must not give membership to these candidates and to increase to the role of women in democracy , they must give atleast minimum ratio of seats to women candidates.
iv_ Constitution as well as Judiciary must constitutionally emphasise government to be responsive, acxpuntable as well as legitimate to the people, so that there is no curruption as well as illegal practises followed in the democracy.
