Answer: - Rancidity is the phenomenon by which fats and oil containing foods get spoilt when kept open for a long time. It can be prevented by adding antioxidants to the food like vitamin A and vitamin C or it should be stored in airtight containers which slows down rancidity

or

we can prevent it by vinegar and nitrogen gas.
