Suggest any one strategy for effective waste management being used in your area or lacality or school

Recycling of certain things ,like plastic , which cannot be burned as is its, reduced wastes in my locality as well as helped in the effective waste management.Treatment of certain harmful wastes which come from the factories nearby my locality, reduced the wastes in the river flowing, which in turn reduced the no: of diseases caused by polluted water from the river.
