Two methods of irrigation where there is scarcity of water are:-

1)Drip irrigation system:-

It is a system where the water is given to the plant roots drop by drop. Water pipes

are spread along the file with small openings so that the water may drop into the

roots. There is minimum wastage of water in this type of irrigation and it is really

suitable for areas having water scarcity.

2) Sprinkler system:-

This consists of watering the plants by sprinkling the water all over the crops. It

waters the crops just like rain. There is no wastage and clogging up of water

because the water is sprinkled to the crops and hence the while field gets watered.
