Explanation:

At times the Parliament passes laws which turn out to be very popular and supported by the citizens of the country.

● But at times a law can be constitutionally valid and legal yet may not be able to gain the popular support of the people of the country.

● The people might feel that it is unfair and harmful to their sentiments.

● The people might criticize it by holding public meetings, reporting to the TV channels and writing on social media.

● Since it is a democratic setup, the people have the right to express their unwillingness to accept certain laws framed by the parliament.

● If a large number of people oppose the law, the Parliament has the pressure to change it.

● If a law favors a group of people and disregards the other it will be controversial.

● The people can also approach the court for the same.

● The court has the power to modify or cancel the laws if it does not follow the rules of the constitution.

● The role of the citizen is not only to elect a representative but also to review his working and criticize his actions.
