Answer:

mercury and water . potassium chloride and ammonium chlororide........

  • separation by using seperating funnel.
  • sublimation
  • filtration to separate sand followed by evaporation / distillation.
  • separation by using separating funnel to separate kerosene oil followed by evaporation or distillation.................

here is your answer mate hope it helps you thank you

HEY MATE!

I'm Sneha Bajaj and the answer u want is given below :

Q1:-Suggest separation techniques one would need to employ to separate the following mixtures with reasoning:

  • Mercury and water
  • Potassium chloride and ammonium chloride
  • Common salt, water and sand
  • Kerosene oil, water and salt

Ans: Following techniques should be used:

MERCURY AND WATER : They can be separated by the process of decantation by using separating funnel for the separation of two immiscible liquids

POTASSIUM CHLORIDE AND AMMONIUM CHLORIDE :They can be separated by sublimation Method as ammonium chloride will sublimate leaving behind potassium chloride

COMMON SALT, WATER AND SAND : It can be separated by the process of decantation as salt is soluble in water and sand is not soluble on water

KEROSENE OIL, WATER AND SALT: By the process of decantation we can separate kerosene oil from water

I hope it will be helpful to you
