Suggest some approaches towards the conservation of forests.

The following measures are suggested for the conservation of forests:

(i) Plantation of indigenous or exotic species to develop forests in all the available land.

(ii) Indiscriminate felling of trees for the purpose of timber must be reduced.

(iii) The forest reserves must be protected from fuel-starved villagers, fodder-starved cattles and commercial exploitation.

(iv) Participation of local people and villagers must be taken in conservation of forests and they should be given proper employment.
