Conservation means protecting or preserving a natural resource.

Why conservation is required ?

It is an urge to protect and manage our natural resources and biodiversity as it fulfills our daily needs and requirements. Also some resources such as Water, forest, coal , petroleum etc .

These sources also need to be used substantially as these are conventional and do not renew.

The wildlife also needs protection. Many animals are killed for their skins, teeth, fur, feathers etc.

This practice also disturbs the food chain and imbalances the ecosystem.

Remember the three golden R's - reuse, reduce, recycle.

CONSERVATION OF WILDLIFE:

• Poaching should be banned and made a punishable deed.
• Monitoring should be increased.
• Natural parks and sanctuaries must be increased in number

CONSERVATION OF WATER

• Water harvesting must be increased specially in places where water is present in small amounts.
• Build some small earthen dams.
• Rooftop water collecting units must be setup

CONSERVATION OF COAL AND PETROLEUM

• Switch of fans, refrigerators, televisions, etc when not in use.
• Public transport system must increase and improved so that people use them instead of personal vehicles.
• On cold days, an extra cloth can be used of wearing instead of using heaters.
