Bottom-line May be in terms of % it is low but in absolute terms this is a very big change in a very short time of 40 years . Never in the history of India you can witness such a case. This can also be attributed to the non remunerative nature of Indian agriculture , high division of land holdings , and a sign of transition of the economy to Manufacturing and service sector.
