The true fact is both ways of generating electricity will pollute the air, water and the soil.

So none of them are going to help in the saving of environment case. But the reality is that neuclear ways of producing electricity is more efficient and less poluting when taken measures.

Now a lot of fossil fuel is required to produce a considerate amount of electricity but with a lot of pollution. But for nuclear ways we can use factory chimeny and other methods to reduce pollution plus we also will not need to use too much resources.
